day 3 in mexico

GAWD I love it here. :) So as per usual, yesterday we hung out at the pool all day (I got LOTS of sun this time as you'll see), then went down to Old Town to shop a bit then met up with some family friends and had dinner at an Italian restaurant (there are an insane amount of Italian restaurants here - odd). Here is what I wore:

I finally got my hands on some jewelry so I won't feel naked when we go out anymore. LOVE what I found. I even bought earrings. :) (Earrings and ring = Shazel, cross pendant = Ponciana)

spring pinning

Despite the fresh dumping of snow we just received, I'm holding out that spring is just around the corner. The temps are supposed to rise, and I'm keeping my hopes up that a big thaw is coming my way. I'm sick of my parka and Sorels and am more then ready to have a day or two where socks aren't necessary and a jacket is optional.

Yesterday was a very, very bad day that had me spend way too many hours in bed. Thankfully, I had Pinterest to keep me company and I found some lovely spring looks that I'd love to try out. Now I just need to find maternity boyfriend jeans! chillin' in mexico

I'm here in Puerto Vallarta relaxing, getting some sun and enjoying above freezing temperatures. We're also doing lotsa shopping although the clothing situation here is pretty terrible. Here's what I wore out yesterday for dinner and shopping around the malecon...

We did a bit of shopping before heading to the restaurant downtown. We went to Lans but it was pretty brutal. I tried on some Levis but no success so I left empty handed. Some pics of a couple cute things in there:

I did finally score a leather backpack at Rolling Stones Leather on the malecon for $70 (a gift from the 'rents). They also have incredible tooled purses and I am totally considering going back to get one.

in between

I'm at that awful in between stage where I'm too big for my "normal" clothes, and too small for maternity clothes. It's the stage where people don't necessarily know you're pregnant by looking at you, and may just think that you pounded back a few too many cheeseburgers since the last time they saw you. It's the stage where material needs to hit either below or above the bump, but if the waist line hits in between its really annoying. All this means today is probably day 4 of me wearing tights. Good thing I own at least a dozen!

I'm off to Puerto Vallarta super duper early Monday morning so I was just in my dressing room deciding what to bring with me. My summer wardrobe kind of sucks a** I gotta admit so the process lasted about 5 minutes. I'm keeping things very casual as we travel around via dirty nasty buses and we do tons of walking (while shopping) so shoes have to be flats. So I'm bringing what's in these photos, plus a pair of denim shorts and 3 tankinis. That's it. Which means my suitcase will be 3/4 empty (if not more). TONS of space to bring back all sorts of stuff. :)

winter mint

I'm not so sure if wearing mint in the winter is a fashion faux pas. I figured paring these pastel pants with a thick wool sweater (and scarf, not pictured) was a great way to winterize them.  This particular pair are very low rise so I can still get them on without looking like I'm sporting worlds biggest muffin top! Unfortunately for them, its warm and melty out today, and since I didn't wear boots, I now have dirt marks up the back of my pants from trekking through the slush. I'm off to spray and wash.
