the monday that broke the bank

Minnie (the brownish cat) hasn't been feeling well lately and has taken to peeing outside her litter box. We noticed something wrong with her this weekend. I'll spare you the details (you're welcome!) cause it's super nasty. Anyway first thing this morning our vet had an opening so I threw some breakfast together, packed up Gia and Minnie and headed to the vet. 2 hours later, the cat's been temporarily fixed but very likely needs surgery soon. Expensive surgery. So about that dog I wanted...not gonna happen. I don't know what I was thinking with 2 sick cats, a toddler, and hopefully another baby some day soon. I'm happy that I like my current wardrobe and have a lot to work with because discretionary spending is a thing of the past.
Thankfully they can fix her, so at least that's something positive. I swear, If I ever get another animal I am totally buying pet insurance.

Here's an outfit that was thrown together in minutes, with mascara, lipstick, and a hat to distract from everything I didn't have time to do (like brushing my hair and washing my face).

hat: H&M
shirt & ring: F21
jeans: Gap
boots: Steve Madden Troopa via TownShoes
belt: Garage
bag: Sfera, a hand me down from Kim
bracelets: a little bit of everything

oh no jen, pet bills are the worst. scary! they know they've got you by the balls. sorry to put it so crudely but with four dogs (one boston, two pugs and an akita shepherd mix resembling a wolf), i have often wondered how they can justify charging the obscene amounts that they do. it's really hard- so sorry:(

on a good note, you look adorable at the vet! i love the entire look.

i love your commentary with your postings....keep that up in 2013:)

ps. about the boston: when the time comes, you should definitely get one. they are great with kids and amazingly fun, affectionate and playful. did i mention playful?

Hi Jen!

I think you look great! If only cats could get part time jobs huh? We often joke about this and question ruby when we get home about what has she done all day while we've been working! I would not hesitate to fork out for vets as couldn't be without my fur baby!
