heading out

It's another crazy hot day, and if it was acceptable to wear even less clothing then I am I'd be all over it. It's Friday, so we're heading up to the cottage again. I mean it's been quite the rough week of sunshine, afternoons spent by the pool, nights spent in the backyard with a naked baby and popsicles. A girls gotta relax after such a strenuous week! Hope you all have a great weekend planned too!

this weeks purchases

In lieu of an outfit post (I'm currently bloggin' poolside so today looks almost identical to yesterday), I bring you my purchases that arrived this week.

Kim brought my new shoes to the cottage this past weekend. I haven't worn them yet, and I really hope they are comfy, because the look of them screams "blisters". They were only $18 so I rolled the dice. You know what's awesome? Kim refused my attempt at paying her for them.  Big sisters are great!
(I think it's still her guilt about not inviting me to the trunk show a few weeks back. Or not inviting me on an upcoming outing that I would have so been down for.)
Next, my Simon's order came. I had to send a few basic layering tanks back, and also a striped shirt as I didn't realize the knot meant a gigantic hole that showed my stretch marks stomach. But I did score a few items on sale or for cheap.

colorblock tee - $18
probably sold out as it was $3...but here's one similar
flower earrings - $6
bandeau twist one piece - $40
gray belt - $20

My husband is home today as the power was scheduled to be off in his building so our short week just got shorter! It's gorgeous and sunny so as soon as Gia is up from her nap we're going out to buy her some new shoes (these ones if you're curious), then heading to my parents to enjoy an afternoon by their pool. These plans mean a simple outfit, day 3 hair, no makeup, a beach bag, and flip flops. Gotta love $3 Old Navy flip flops. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that you have at least one pair too!

tee: Gap
shorts: Garage
belt: Smart Set
bag: Costa Blanca

tuesday at the office

In my haste to get my arse to work this morning at 6:30 am after a 4 day weekend filled with cottage/booze/BBQ, i managed to forget my makeup bag filled with accessories. Luckily I at least wore my rings and watch to work, but I did feel naked and "incomplete" all day. So annoying. Therefore please imagine my wrist sporting a neon pink bracelet, and my neck wrapped with a black and white beaded necklace.

***** Tomorrow I will pick the winner of the ring giveaway so PLEASE hurry and enter HERE! *****

blouse ~ Spotted Moth {last seen here}
shorts ~ Garage

i'm back

There are only two good things about coming home from the cottage.
First, I get to shower in a real shower, not a tiny stand up shower where lifting your arms to wash your hair means bumping elbows on the wall. And shaving in the shower involves turning the water off as to not rinse away the shaving cream, while attempting to bend over enough to reach your legs all the while ensuring your arse doesn't hit the shower door, knocking it open. As soon as the lake is warm enough, we buy all natural soap and shampoo and bathe in the lake at night. It's awesome. But until then coming home to shower is bliss.
Second, being home means my body gets a break from being the feeding ground for black flies, mosquitoes and annoying bibits. I can spend a few days free from the stench of Deep Woods Off.
Having said that, I'm starting the four day countdown to next weekend.
