Crackin' me up that it looks BAAAAAD but even worse when it's on someone. Add a red nose and you're all set for the next kid's birthday bash. Viktor & Rolf via farfetch.com.

sunday dinner

The whole fam headed to my parents for dinner last night. I brought my camera and asked Kim to snap some pics. She took 4, then said "what about accessory pics". To which I replied "my watch...again?". She shook her head in disdain and walked inside. Big sisters still suck sometimes.

(I had just gotten off the trampoline with my niece, so don't mind the hair)

the weekends purchases

I didn't find the $19 flyer dresses at the grocery store, but I did end up buying a very flattering black, lightweight, black dress for $24. If they had other colors, I would have totally picked up one or two more, its just so comfy and perfect for the humid summer days. I also found these shorts for $29. Neither of which I can find on the Joe Fresh site.

I went to the Gap quickly to return the ugly jeans and found these red legging jeans on sale for $44. I guess my love affair with Gap denim continues...just can't beat the price, and they last forever!

just a few new things

As I mentioned yesterday, my twin sister and I checked out a clothing sample sale (as they called it) downtown yesterday afternoon. It was a successful trip as you'll see in a moment but the prices could have been lower and the ads mentioned all sorts of awesome brands like 7 For All Mankind, J-Brand and Sam Edelman, none of which we saw there. Most of the brands I had never heard of - but they did have a few funky Camilla Skovgaard heels (WAY too high for me), a bit of Maison Scotch and Bench. Here's what I managed to score:

Awesome pale blue wide leg jeans by Meltin' Pot. I think I paid $50.

I completely fell in love with this coat. I hate boring coats. This is far from boring. It's by Pour. The tag said regular $595. I paid $100. It's pretty tight across the chest but whatevs, small price to pay for coolness.

Cute little denim top by Mined Rd. Jeansmakers for $25.

These pants are SO freaking comfy and made of the lightest cotton so perfect for summer. They are a light grey with a slight weave pattern. By 2 Two and I paid $25.

And a boring racer back long tank for $20 also by Mined Rd. Jeansmakers.

The other day my twin sister and I went to Shoppers and Murale where I picked up some new nailpolishes for summer and a coral lipstick as the one I bought the other say turned out to be too peach (but still awesome).

Sally Hansen in Lacey Lilac and Mint Sorbet and Revlon in Pink Lingerie and Dreamer.

Smashbox lipstick in Mandarin.

One plus to suburban living...flyers. I thoroughly missed them during my downtown days. Thursday night the flyer fairy delivers a load to my mailbox and Friday morning breakfast is spent looking through them while Gia peruses the Toys R Us "book" and marvels at all the pictures of the girls and boys playing with toys. The Superstore flyer had some pretty Joe Fresh dresses for $19 so I'm off for groceries and a little peek at the clothing section.

friday at the office

I left work at noon today to go to a clothing sample sale at a bar in the Byward Market. Funny because I was invited to go to Montreal with some girls from work but decided not to because I was just there and have spent too much money lately. And then look what I gone and did! Anyway, photos of the results tomorrow. In the meantime, here is a very casual outfit for half of a frigid (WTF it's the end of April?!) Friday.

I took a break from cooking last night and my little fam headed out for dinner. Dinners out used to revolve around which bar made the best Caesars, now I'm looking for crayons and kids meals. We had a fab night, and I'm still amused that my shirt matched the table cloth. Not so amused that my new low cut pants meant my undies were out in full view while we ate, a fact I only discovered once we got home. I'm classy like that.

thursday at the office

Forgot my freaking camera at home today. OOPS. So you're stuck with Instagram pics. On a side note, trying to get all the wear I can out of my Fluevog Volunteer boots - comfiest boots EVER! (I've only mentioned that just about every time I've blogged them).
